The longan fruit is very juicy and extremely sweet. The translucent flesh has the consistency and taste of a grape, with floral hints. Longan is in the same family as lychee and rambutan, and so taste somewhat similar to both. 

Scientific Name: Dimocarpus Longan 

Also Known As: Lungan, dragon eye fruit, mamoncillo chino, lam yai

When/ How to Eat: When ripe, Longans transition from a green to a yellow or brown color and the shell becomes dry and brittle. To eat, crack the shell with your finger, peel the shell off, take the black seed out, and bite into the white flesh and enjoy. 

Where it Grows: Longans are native to Myanmar and southern China. 

Please keep in mind the weight of each box varies from fruit to fruit and overall is dependent on the fruit's overall mass, size and shape.
