Soursop can be described as a mix in flavor of strawberry, apple, pineapple with a hint of citrus notes. It’s custard like flesh is white and juicy and has a tangy finish to it.

Common Name: Soursop

Scientific Name: Annona muricata

Also Known As: Guanabana, and Brazilian paw paw 

When/ How to Eat: You can determine when a Soursop is ripe by its color. When unripe, the fruit will have a dark green color while when ripened the color will appear yellowish green. When ripe, the fruit will be slightly soft when pressure in applied. 

Where it Grows: Soursop is native to Central and South America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Guanabana trees can be grown in USDA zones: 9 through 11. We recommend planting the seeds found in the surrounding flesh so that you can grow your own tree.
